Artist's Statement

One of my strongest impressions from Uluru is the absolute power of its silence. But if you “listen” closely, you can hear its ochre spirit in the percussion of the clapping sticks, the swish of the boomerang, drones and wah wahs of the didgeridoo, the hiss of the snake and scratchings of the echidna and goanna – all embedded in the massive grey base of the rock beneath the surface of the red, red sand.
