Artist's Statement

The dominating "spine" derived from piano keys depicts the essence of a musician's creativity remaining in tact, despite the deterioration of stripped flesh burned away in a red kiln.
Amongst the grunge of blood, dirt and ash, green piano keys and white spaces represent growth, hope and room for renewal.
