Artist's Statement

The Last Post – As I pause to listen to those melancholy, haunting notes of "The Last Post", I remember too, that amid the sadness, there will always be beauty in the hopefulness of the fragile yet persistent dancing symbols of remembrance - the rich, red poppies.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning,

We will remember them.
